Aaaaannnnddd....We're Back!

After quite a long break and many life changes, I've decided that I need a regular creative outlet.  A distraction and excuse to get out and take pictures.  With spring coming and and a spring break trip to Atlanta and Savannah with my friend Erika, I figured this would be a great time to start. 

I have a lot of pictures from the last year that I'll be editing and adding here with trips to Colorado, Bermuda, St. Louis, and Savannah under my belt.  Though these are tied to some tough memories in many ways, there are still some great images that I'd like to share. 

Let's start with an old Savannah picture to commemorate my upcoming trip!  An unedited balcony view of the river as the sun is setting.  Can't wait to get down there and clear my head a bit, I hope!

Flowers!

In an attempt to usher in spring and as a follow-up to my last post, I will start posting some of my numerous flower pictures.  Between trips with Erika to Longwood Gardens , walks at the Arboretum , and other random pictures from the game lands, Savannah, etc. I have a TON of flower pictures.  We'll get started in a sec. I've taken this week off from running.  For some reason these last two or so weeks my body has been completely rebelling against everything-extreme fatigue, aching everywhere.  I try to run, work out, and can't make my body do what I want it to.  Such a frustrating feeling.  A full blood panel shows only that my thyroid is hypo again.  Okay, fine, but that isn't the cause of this.  I think I've physically caught up with where I am emotionally.  So hopefully a week off will help and then starting again slowly.  Sigh. I'm eager to get started again as I keep getting recruited by the Nittany Valley Hash House Harriers.  I'm not totally sur

Sapelo Island, Part I

     I have been here before,           But when or how I cannot tell:      I know the grass beyond the door,           The sweet keen smell, The sighing sound, the lights around the shore. ~ Sudden Light, Dante Gabriel Rosetti I don’t know what it is about the Georgia coast that lures me in.  I have no childhood attachment.  I’ve visited other beaches and coastlines in various locations with no connection.  But there is something about this place that is peaceful, comfortable, familiar…  I’ve never been to Sapelo Island before.  Our visits typically include Savannah and some time on Tybee, the neighboring barrier island.  In the spirit of something different, we chose to visit Sapelo this year.  Sapelo is a small barrier island owned almost entirely by the state of Georgia and accessible only by ferry.  Commercially, the University of Georgia Marine Institute takes up much of the south end of the island.  We avoided most of that.  The only full-time residents liv

Corvus Plays With Pinecones

As I sort through the couple hundred pictures I took in Savannah and Sapelo, I figured I’d throw out a video I took in my parents’ back yard since it’s been a while!  I don’t know why I buy my dogs toys.  They would much rather play with logs or, as you can see, pine cones.
